Get Better Quicker With Residential Alcohol and Drug Treatment

[/vc_column_text][us_separator][vc_column_text]As one of Sydney’s best private rehabilitation centres, we pay attention to the quality of care, ensuring that behaviour change isn’t just another fancy phrase but a priority deeply rooted in day-to-day activities, teachings, code of conduct, and belief systems.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner animate=”afr” width=”1/2″][us_image image=”4065″ align=”center” style=”shadow-1″ animate=”afc”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner content_placement=”middle”][vc_column_inner animate=”afl” width=”1/2″][us_image image=”5662″ align=”center” style=”shadow-1″ animate=”afc”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner animate=”afr” width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

Our Approach

You may have been to a drug and alcohol rehab, only to drink and retake drugs sometime after you return home. Many people can stop using drugs and alcohol for some time; the challenge for most people is committing to it.

Our program is modelled on the highly effective The Retreat USA, which boasts success rates that far exceed that of any other public or private alcohol and drug rehabilitation program anywhere in the world.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner content_placement=”middle”][vc_column_inner animate=”afl” width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]The path to recovery is elusive. If it were as simple as an alcoholic or addict realising they need to stop drinking and remain sober on the strength of some counselling or group sessions at a drug and alcohol treatment centre, the relapse rates wouldn’t be so high. Achieving natural long-term drug and alcohol sobriety takes more than this. Many of our guests have been unsuccessful in staying sober from medical-based rehabilitation centres but found longer-term sobriety with The Sydney Retreat.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner animate=”afr” width=”1/2″][us_image image=”5660″ align=”center” style=”shadow-1″ animate=”afc”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner content_placement=”middle”][vc_column_inner animate=”afl” width=”1/2″][us_image image=”4608″ align=”center” style=”shadow-1″ animate=”afc”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner animate=”afr” width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]We offer an innovative residential recovery program that provides a non-clinical, mutual-help approach to the problem of alcohol and drug dependency. This supportive, educational setting is grounded in the spiritual principles of AA. Providing a safe and supportive environment to study and practice these principles opens the door to a life of contented sobriety.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle” css=”%7B%22default%22%3A%7B%22background-color%22%3A%22%23e0e0da%22%7D%7D”][vc_column width=”1/6″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

We provide an immersive, supportive, 28-day intensive program modelled on The Retreat USA. Our primary goal is to help our guests understand and practice the power of the 12 Step recovery program in a safe and supportive community environment.

We are a group of men and women who believe that the 12-Step program can lead you to freedom from alcohol and drugs. We recognise the urgent need for an affordable residential facility that provides a solution to alcoholism and drug dependency.

A newly released Cochrane Review into Twelve Step Facilitated recovery (TSF), found “high certainty evidence” that TSF programs that were designed to increase participation in Alcoholics Anonymous can lead to higher rates of continuous abstinence over months and years.

ADDICTION AND THE BRAIN

Every week at The Sydney Retreat, guests attend a discussion with addiction medicine specialist, Dr Stephen Jurd. In his Addiction and the Brain lecture series, Dr Jurd hears one question over and over again – Why can’t I moderate my drinking and drug use like everyone else? The answer pertains to a small and ancient part of our brains known as the reward pathway. And this part of the brain reacts differently among addicts and alcoholics.
